MDF Implements a Revolving Social Housing Fund for Tinig ng Nagkakaisa Homeowners’ Association
Eighteen selected members from Tinig ng Nagkakaisa Homeowners’ Association, Inc. (TINIG), were given housing repair loans totaling Php 246,893.00 as Muntinlupa Development Foundation (MDF) implements a Revolving Social Housing Fund for Muntinlupa City.
This is in partnership with the Muntinlupa Urban Poor Alliance through the funds from the Asian Coalition for Housing Rights – Asian Coalition for Community Action (ACHR-ACCA) to support social housing initiatives and community upgrading activities.
The Housing and Urban Livability Committee also known as Credit Committee or CRECOM of ACHR-ACCA evaluated and approved the loan applications from the members of the homeowners’ association. The committee consists of one representative each from Peoples Organization (PO) federation, MDF as the fund manager, and Urban Poor Affairs Office (UPAO) of Muntinlupa City. They were represented by Ms. Shirley Engracia, Ms. Rosalie Candari, Ms. Tessie de Galicia, and Mr. Corona Gamolo, respectively.
Moreover, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed by the then MDF President now Chairman Saturnino Belen together with the UPAO and CRECOM heads.
Beneficiaries of the project were able to make house repairs from their loans. This includes sink, kitchen, comfort room, roof and purlin repairs. Some beneficiaries used their loans for house painting or drainage cementing.
TINIG is responsible for collecting the loan amortizations from the members and remitting the amount to MDF.
